Re: Ryo Takemasa
félicitations pour sa première couverture du New Yorker
One of the first signs of spring in NYC is the blossoming of the cherry trees. Many of those trees can be found on Cherry Hill and surrounding the Reservoir. Central Park's Yoshino cherries were gifted by the government of Japan in 1912, and when in full bloom, can be intensely beautiful.
In Ryo Takemasa’s first cover for The New Yorker, the artist talks about his art, his memories of New York, and the cherry trees in Japan, which saw some of the earliest blooms in over a thousand years.
